Two-way SMS, on the roadmap
Planned with consent, STOP handling and carrier registration as part of the feature rather than as warnings in a help article. None of it ships yet.
- Not available today
- Consent planned in
- Suppression already works for email

The short answer
- The plan: two-way messaging in the same thread list as email, with templates, consent records on the contact, STOP handling and support for carrier registration in the United States.
- Nothing here works today. If texting is why you are shopping for a CRM this month, buy one that has it. That is a straighter answer than a roadmap with no date.
- What already works and will carry over: a suppression list enforced at audience freeze and again at send, with unsubscribes and bounces writing to it automatically.
What it will do
Messages will sit in the same queue as email, on the same contact record, so a conversation that moves from a text to a reply to a call reads as one thread rather than three tools. Templates will be configuration, and every send will pass the same suppression check email already passes.
Consent is the part the design refuses to treat as optional. A consent record on the contact with its timestamp and wording, STOP and the other opt-out keywords handled immediately, and the opt-out written to a suppression list that every channel checks rather than only the texting one.
Cadence step kinds for SMS are planned alongside it, so a sequence can mix an email step, a text and a call task instead of running the text channel in a separate tool with its own list.
What is planned, and why
One thread, not three tools
A text, an email and a call on the same record in the same list, because customers do not think in channels.
Read moreConsent as a record
Timestamp, wording and source stored on the contact, so consent is something you can produce rather than something you believe.
Read moreSTOP that actually stops
Opt-out keywords handled immediately and written to a suppression list every channel checks.

The planned sequence, and the step you can start now.
- 1
Connect
A messaging provider with your own credentials in your instance's vault. Twilio is the planned provider.
- 2
Register
Carrier registration for business texting in the United States. This takes weeks and needs company details matching official records, so it is worth beginning before the feature ships.
- 3
Configure
Templates, the consent wording on your forms, the opt-out confirmation, and which cadences may include a text step.
- 4
Run in review
Any agent-drafted message waits in the approval queue, because every external send is review by default.
In which tier
Local is defined around this pack. It ships when the pack ships.
| Tier | Price | SMS status |
|---|---|---|
| Core | $299/mo | No SMS. Email cadences and the shared inbox are live |
| Local | $499/mo | Defined around SMS, phone numbers and speed to lead. On the roadmap |
| Outbound | $699/mo | Core plus the SMS and phone pack when it ships |
| Agency | $1,200/mo | Everything above, plus marketplaces and the marketing module |
Published tiers as of September 2026, with unlimited seats on every one. Buying Local today would be buying an intention.
Questions
- Can SalesCrew text a customer today?
- No. There is no SMS channel at all. Outbound voice through your own Vapi key and email are the channels that work.
- When will it ship?
- There is no date. Roadmap items are intentions without dates, and the changelog is where they become facts.
- Will it handle 10DLC?
- Supporting carrier registration is part of the planned feature. The registration itself is done in your own name with your own company details.
- Is texting a customer legal?
- It depends on consent, on the message and on where they are. In the United States the TCPA carries statutory damages per message. Take your own advice; this is not legal advice.
- What should I do in the meantime?
- Use whatever texting tool you have and log the touches on the contact. Outbound webhooks can push a SalesCrew event to it.
Start the carrier registration early
It costs nothing to begin and removes a wait when the channel arrives.
