SalesCrew's calling and SMS features are on the roadmap, not shipped yet. Close's are live today. This is a real, current gap the table below states plainly.

SalesCrew vs Close

Close is a sales CRM built around native calling, SMS and a power dialer, all shipped today. SalesCrew's calling and SMS are on the roadmap, not live yet.

An admin approves every new account by hand. Nothing is created until then. We reply by email; no newsletter, no sequence.

Pipeline with weighted forecast and stage breakdown

Choose Close when calling is the core of the workflow and a power dialer, native SMS and call recording need to work today. Choose SalesCrew when the priority is an approval-gated AI layer and MCP-first design across pipeline and outbound, and calling can wait for the roadmap.

The short answer

  • Close ships native calling, SMS and a power dialer today; SalesCrew's calling and SMS are P1, on the roadmap, not shipped, which is the single clearest gap between the two products right now.
  • SalesCrew's approval queue governs every AI-proposed external action by default across the whole product; Close's built-in AI assistant, Chloe, operates on a monthly credit allowance without a single cross-account review gate described on Close's own site.
  • If a team's workflow is inside-sales calling at volume today, Close is the more complete answer; SalesCrew is a bet on the approval-gated, MCP-first design paying off once its own calling ships.

Where each product holds up, and where it doesn't

SalesCrew

  • Every AI-proposed external action queues for approval by default across the product
  • Unlimited seats on every tier, versus per-seat pricing on every Close plan
  • One Supabase project per client, with full export on churn
  • No calling or SMS today; both are P1 on the roadmap while Close ships them now
  • New product: no customers yet, and no third-party reviews yet
  • Fewer native integrations than Close's 100+ app connections

Close

  • Native calling, power dialer and SMS, all live today with per-minute pricing published
  • Native mobile app on every plan
  • 100+ native integrations, per Close's own site
  • No single approval queue gating Chloe's AI actions across an account
  • Per-seat pricing on every plan, so cost climbs directly with headcount
  • Not designed around an MCP-style tool interface for external agents

How to choose

If calling is the actual job, a team of reps working a dial list all day, this comparison isn't close. Close ships a power dialer, a predictive dialer on its top tier, native SMS and call recording, all live and priced per minute today. SalesCrew has none of that shipped; its voice and SMS work is on the roadmap, and describing it as available before it ships would be false. A team that needs calling now should use a product that has it now.

Where SalesCrew's design earns a look is everything around the call: whether an AI-drafted follow-up gets sent without review, whether every action a rep or an agent takes is also available as an MCP tool with identical effect, whether the data lives in a database only that client's team can query. Close's own AI assistant runs on a credit allowance without the same single review gate over every action.

A workable interim path is running Close for the calling workflow specifically and evaluating SalesCrew for the rest of the pipeline, then revisiting once SalesCrew's own calling ships.

Questions

Can you run SalesCrew and Close at the same time?
It's possible through each product's API, but running two CRMs as the system of record for the same pipeline is more sync overhead than most teams want. A more realistic pattern today is choosing Close specifically for the calling workflow while a team's other pipeline work sits in SalesCrew, or waiting until SalesCrew's own calling ships before consolidating.
How do you move data from Close into SalesCrew?
Close exports leads and contacts to CSV, which SalesCrew's import accepts, so the mechanics are an export and re-import with a field-mapping pass. Call recordings and call history logged inside Close don't carry over automatically since SalesCrew's own calling and SMS aren't shipped yet; that history would stay in Close until a team's calling workflow moves.
Why would I choose a brand-new CRM with no reviews over Close, which has native calling today?
If calling is the core of the workflow, an inside-sales team making dozens of calls a day with a power dialer, Close is the better fit right now, plainly. SalesCrew's calling and SMS are on the roadmap, not shipped, so a team that needs that today shouldn't wait on SalesCrew for it. SalesCrew's case is the approval-gated AI layer and MCP-first design across the rest of the pipeline.
Does Close have an approval queue for its AI features?
Close's built-in AI, called Chloe, calls leads, qualifies prospects and books meetings using a monthly credit allowance per plan, but Close's own site does not describe a single queue where every AI action across an account waits for a person to approve it before anything happens. SalesCrew's approval queue is a defined control plane that every agent's external actions pass through by default.
