Monday CRM alternatives
Monday CRM looks like the cheapest CRM here until you read the three-seat minimum and the thousand-contact ceiling. Six alternatives, priced from vendor pages.

Switch if you will pass a thousand contacts this year or need automations, both of which force a tier move on Basic. Stay if your team already runs on Monday boards, because that continuity is worth more than a cheaper seat.
The short answer
- Monday CRM Basic is $12 per seat per month billed annually with a three-seat minimum, so the real entry price is $36 a month, not $12. Compare that figure, not the headline one.
- Basic caps at 1,000 contacts and deals, one workspace, one dashboard, and includes no automations. For a platform whose reputation rests on automation, that is the gap to check before buying.
- If you are not already a Monday customer, most of the reason to choose it disappears. Its strength is continuity with boards your team already uses, and that argument does not transfer.
How we compared these
Prices, minimums and ceilings come from each vendor's own pricing page, checked in September 2026. Nothing is drawn from a review site. Two cells carry no figure by design: Pipedrive returns a 403 to automated requests on every pricing URL, and Zoho's own page served rupees rather than dollars, so neither can be quoted honestly here.
Evaluated from Monday's own documentation and pricing, September 2026. We have not run it in production. The seat minimum, the Basic ceilings and the MCP details are all checkable on its site, and nothing here is a report of using the product.
The comparison is organised around what a team actually pays and where it hits a wall, because in this price band the wall arrives sooner than the bill does. Feature lists are left out; every tool here manages contacts and deals adequately.

The field, ranked for a team leaving Monday CRM
1. HubSpot
Cheaper in practice for a small team, since there is no seat minimum and the free tier covers two users with 1,000 contacts. Starter is $20 a seat annually with no three-seat floor. Best for: teams under three people, or anyone who needs marketing beside the pipeline. Not for: cold outbound, which its policy restricts.

$9 a user annually with no minimum, ten thousand leads rather than one thousand, and calling and sequences included on the entry tier. Best for: teams who hit Monday's ceiling and want the opposite trade. Not for: teams who need the wider platform Monday sits inside.
Read more3. Attio
$35 a seat annually with 250,000 records on Plus and a free tier holding 50,000, which makes Monday's Basic ceiling look very small. Best for: teams whose list is the constraint. Not for: teams over ten seats on Plus, and it runs no cadences.

One flat price with unlimited seats and no minimum-seat arithmetic, your own Postgres project with no vendor row cap, and multi-step cadences with guardrails rather than no automations at all. Best for: teams whose Monday tier had to move for a ceiling rather than a feature. Not for: teams under about six people, where per-seat CRMs are far cheaper, or anyone who needs the wider Monday platform. New product, no third-party reviews, no mobile app. Disclosure: SalesCrew is our product.

A free edition for three users with no card, which is exactly the size Monday charges $36 a month for. Its dollar pricing could not be verified from its own page, so check your currency. Best for: three-person teams wanting a suite. Not for: teams who wanted less product.

A pipeline-first CRM with a native MCP server in Claude's connector marketplace. Its pricing could not be verified because its pages return 403 to automated requests. Best for: sales teams who want a deal board rather than a work board. Not for: anyone needing project management alongside.
Read moreWhen to stay on Monday CRM
Stay if your company already runs on Monday. That is not a small thing. The CRM sits on the same boards, the same permissions and the same notifications your team already understands, and a deal can sit next to the delivery work it turns into. Every alternative here means running a second system and connecting it, which costs more in practice than the seat difference saves.
Stay for the flexibility of the board model. Monday lets you shape a sales process that would need custom objects and an administrator in a heavier CRM, and non-technical people can do it themselves. If your process is unusual, that adaptability is worth more than a purpose-built pipeline that assumes a shape you do not have.
Stay if a thousand contacts is genuinely enough. Plenty of teams sell to a few hundred accounts and never approach the ceiling, and for them the Basic limits are theoretical. The three-seat minimum is also a non-issue at three or more people, which is most teams buying a CRM in the first place. The criticism on this page is real for growth, and it does not apply to a stable book of business.
Questions
- What does Monday CRM really cost to start?
- Basic is listed at $12 per seat per month billed annually, or $18 monthly, with a three-seat minimum, as of September 2026. That makes the true entry $36 a month annually billed rather than $12, and the minimum applies whether or not you have three people who need it.
- What are the limits on Monday CRM Basic?
- The ones that matter are 1,000 contacts and deals, one workspace, one dashboard, and no automations. That last point surprises people: a platform known for automation does not include any on its entry CRM tier. Standard raises the ceiling to 10,000 and Pro to 100,000.
- Is Monday CRM a real CRM or a board with a label?
- It is a CRM built on Monday's board engine, which cuts both ways. You get the flexibility, views and collaboration of the wider platform, and you get a sales tool that thinks in items and columns rather than in leads and stages. Teams already living in Monday usually find that natural. Teams who are not often find it indirect.
- Does Monday work with AI assistants?
- Yes. Monday publishes two MCP servers, a platform one and an apps one, both using OAuth, so an AI client can be connected to boards and records. That is on par with the better vendors in this comparison rather than an outlier in either direction.
