What does a CRM cost per month?
Roughly $7 to $195 per seat on seat-priced CRMs, or $97 to $1,200 flat on unlimited-seat ones, as of September 2026. Which model you are looking at matters more than the number.

The short answer
- Published starting prices in September 2026 run from $7 per seat per month (HubSpot Sales Hub Starter, billed annually) to $195 per seat (Salesforce Sales Cloud Enterprise), while flat-rate products run from $97 a month (GoHighLevel Starter) to $1,200 (SalesCrew Agency).
- The seat model decides the actual bill more than the tier name does: a $90-per-seat plan for a 15-person team costs $1,350 a month, while a $299 flat plan with unlimited seats costs $299 for the same team.
- AI features, SMS, calling minutes and enrichment credits are usually metered separately from the seat or flat price, on both pricing models, and that meter is where a quoted price commonly turns into a larger bill.
- The tier names on a pricing page (Starter, Pro, Enterprise) do not reliably signal whether you are being charged per seat or a flat rate; check the seat line specifically, not only the headline price.
Why the sticker price is not the number that matters
A pricing page usually leads with one number per tier, and that number means something different depending on the seat model behind it. Seat-priced CRMs charge per user, so the bill scales with headcount: add a person, add the per-seat rate again. Flat-rate CRMs charge one price for the account regardless of how many people log in, so adding a person costs nothing extra.
Both models are common, and neither is inherently cheaper. A 3-person team on a $19-per-seat plan pays $57 a month, well under most flat-rate products. The same team at 15 people on that same $19-per-seat plan pays $285, and at a $90-per-seat plan it pays $1,350. Flat pricing tends to win once a team passes a handful of seats, though the exact break-even depends on the specific per-seat rate.
The tier name on the page rarely tells you which model you are looking at. "Professional" on one vendor's page is a per-seat plan; "Professional" on another is a flat account price. The only reliable way to know is to check whether the price changes as you add users in the signup flow, not to infer it from the tier's name.

What to check before comparing two prices
Start by finding the seat line, not the headline number. Add a user in the signup flow, or ask sales directly, whether the total changes. If it does, multiply by your actual headcount before comparing it to anything else, because the advertised "starting at" price is almost always the smallest plan at one seat.
Then find what is metered besides seats. AI drafting, summaries and scoring, SMS, calling minutes and enrichment credits are commonly billed separately from the base price, on flat-rate and seat-priced products alike. A vendor that quotes a low base price and meters everything useful on top can end up costing more than a higher base price with a clear, generous allowance.
Disclosure: SalesCrew is our product. It uses flat pricing with unlimited seats on every tier, $299 to $1,200 a month depending on the tier, and meters AI model calls separately with a fair-use allowance, a soft alert at 80% usage and a hard stop at 100% that applies only to AI features, never to manual work. That is one specific combination of seat model and metering; it will suit some buyers and not others.
Credit-based add-ons can double the advertised price
Questions
- Why do two CRMs with the same sticker price end up costing so differently?
- Because the seat model multiplies or does not. A $90-per-seat CRM for a 15-person team is $1,350 a month before any add-ons. A $299 flat product with unlimited seats is $299 a month for the same team. The tier name on a pricing page rarely tells you which model you are looking at.
- Is a flat-rate, unlimited-seat CRM always cheaper?
- Not always. A 3-person team on a $19-per-seat plan pays $57 a month, which is cheaper than most flat-rate products. Flat pricing tends to win once a team passes a handful of seats, and where exactly depends on the per-seat rate being compared.
- What is the single question to ask before signing up?
- Ask what is metered besides seats: AI model calls, SMS, calling minutes, enrichment credits, or premium integrations. A cheap seat price with an expensive meter running underneath it can cost more than a flat plan with a clear cap.
