Salesforce vs Zoho CRM
An enterprise CRM platform with Agentforce sold on usage, against an edition-based CRM that starts free and puts agents in its entry tier.

Choose Salesforce when you need its wider platform, with Slack, Tableau, AgentExchange and Agentforce agents on one record, and your budget can carry usage-based AI. Choose Zoho CRM when you want deep automation from the entry edition, a free starting plan and lighter licences for staff outside sales.
The short answer

What each one does well, and where it costs you
Salesforce
- Slack, Tableau and AgentExchange apps sit on the same customer record
- Advanced adds backup, archive and data-detection tools for teams that keep their own copies
- Agentforce is metered apart from seats, so AI spend needs its own budget line
- Most editions bill annually, which raises the first commitment
Zoho CRM
- Workflows, cadences and AI agents start on the entry paid edition
- A free edition lets a small team start before any contract
- Four editions plus two licence types take time to price
- The Zia sales assistant, journey orchestration and territory management start at Enterprise
How to choose between Salesforce and Zoho CRM
Start with the platform question. If your company already runs Slack and Tableau, or plans to build on AgentExchange apps, Salesforce keeps all of it on one record. If you just need a strong sales CRM, Zoho CRM puts more of that inside its entry editions.
Next, price the AI you'll really run. Agentforce spends credits per action or charges per conversation, so estimate your monthly volume before you compare seat prices. Zoho CRM lists its AI agents inside the edition. That makes the first-year bill easier to plan.
Choose neither when your team is two people working a list by hand. A spreadsheet covers that stage. Our Agentforce vs HubSpot Breeze page goes deeper on usage-based AI, and Pipedrive vs Zoho CRM covers Zoho's other common matchup.
Questions
- Is Zoho CRM a real alternative to Salesforce?
- For most small and mid-sized sales teams, yes. Zoho CRM's Standard edition already lists workflows, AI agents, cadences, reports and forecasting, and Enterprise adds territory management and customer portals. Salesforce pulls ahead in depth when you need its wider platform: Slack, Tableau, AgentExchange and the Agentforce agents. Decide by how much of that platform you will use.
- How are Salesforce and Zoho CRM priced?
- Both price per user each month. Salesforce sells Starter Suite and Pro Suite, then Sales Cloud editions named Core, Advanced and Max, most billed annually. Zoho CRM sells a free edition plus Standard, Professional, Enterprise and Ultimate, and offers a discount on annual terms. Read the live figures on each pricing page on the day you buy (structure checked 24 September 2026).
- Does Agentforce cost extra on top of Salesforce?
- Yes, in most set-ups. Salesforce's Agentforce pricing page lists Flex Credits spent per action, a per-conversation rate for customer-facing agents and per-user add-ons for employee-facing agents. It also offers three buying models: pre-purchase, pre-commit and pay as you go. Zoho CRM lists AI agents inside its Standard edition and the Zia sales assistant on Enterprise (both checked 24 September 2026).
- Which one is easier to leave?
- Plan the exit before you sign, whichever you pick. Export every object you rely on, including notes, activities and custom fields, and test that the files open cleanly. Salesforce's Advanced edition lists Backup & Recover and Archive, which helps you keep your own copies. With Zoho CRM, the Ultimate edition lists migration assistance for moves in.
- Is there a CRM with flat pricing instead of per-user seats?
- Yes. SalesCrew charges one price per instance with unlimited seats, from Core at $299 a month. Every action is also an MCP tool, and each client gets its own database. SalesCrew is our product.
