Pipedrive vs Zoho CRM

A focused pipeline CRM against a deep, edition-based CRM that sits inside a larger business suite. Depth of automation and licence mix decide it.

An admin approves every new account by hand. Nothing is created until then. We reply by email; no newsletter, no sequence.

Choose Pipedrive when your reps want a visual pipeline they learn in a day, with lead capture and meeting notes around it. Choose Zoho CRM when you want a free starting edition, deep automation by edition and cheaper licences for staff outside sales.

What each one does well, and where it costs you

Pipedrive

  • Reps see deals by stage from the first login
  • A large marketplace adds calling, data and marketing tools when you need them
  • Its pricing page blocked our automated check, so confirm prices in a browser

Zoho CRM

  • Automation, cadences and AI agents start on the entry paid edition
  • Team-user licences keep the bill down for staff who only need part of the CRM
  • Four editions plus licence types make the right plan harder to pick
  • Bundles such as Zoho CRM Plus sit beside the CRM editions, which widens the choice again

How to choose between Pipedrive and Zoho CRM

Start with who logs in. If only reps use the CRM, Pipedrive's pipeline screen gets them working fast. If finance, support and marketing need records too, Zoho CRM's team-user licence keeps those seats cheaper.

Then list the automation you'll run in the first ninety days. Zoho CRM puts workflows, cadences and agents in Standard and process automation in Professional, so you can match each need to an edition. On Pipedrive, check which plan or marketplace app covers the same list.

Choose neither when two people share a short list: a spreadsheet covers that. Our Salesforce vs Zoho CRM page covers Zoho's enterprise matchup, and Zoho CRM alternatives lists the wider field.

Questions

Is Zoho CRM cheaper than Pipedrive?
Zoho CRM is easier to start cheaply, because it runs a free edition for small teams and sells four paid editions per user. It also sells team-user licences for staff who only need part of the CRM. Pipedrive's pricing page showed a bot check to our fetch on 24 September 2026, so we quote no Pipedrive figure. Compare the edition you would really run, at your real headcount.
What is a Zoho CRM team user?
A team user is a lighter Zoho CRM licence for marketing, support, legal or finance staff. Team users own records in their own team modules and can add notes and tags in the main sales modules. They can't run reports, start calls or use Zia AI features. Zoho sells the licence as an add-on (zoho.com/crm/zohocrm-pricing.html, checked 24 September 2026).
Which one has more automation?
Zoho CRM puts more automation into its editions. Standard includes workflows, assignment rules, AI agents and cadences, and Professional adds Blueprint-style process automation and CPQ. Pipedrive lists sales automation, email sync and tracking, and email marketing on its features page. Map the three automations you use most, then check which edition or add-on covers each.
Can I connect Claude or ChatGPT to Pipedrive or Zoho CRM?
Yes, both vendors publish MCP pages. Pipedrive MCP connects ChatGPT and Claude through an OAuth login and can update records and create activities. Zoho's site holds dozens of MCP pages across its suite, CRM included. Both were live on 24 September 2026.
Is there a CRM with unlimited seats and outreach built in?
Yes. SalesCrew includes unlimited seats on every tier, from Core at $299 a month, with multi-step cadences, a unified inbox and suppression at audience freeze. Every AI action waits in one approval queue. SalesCrew is our product.
