Housecall Pro wins for a home-services business that wants published pricing, a 14-day trial and booking, dispatch and invoicing in one tool starting under $60/month. ServiceTitan wins instead for a multi-truck, multi-trade operation that needs dispatch, pricebook, payroll and marketing depth and is willing to go through a sales call to get there.

The short answer

  • Housecall Pro starts at $59/month for one user (Basic, billed annually), with a 14-day free trial and no card required, per housecallpro.com/pricing.
  • Jobber starts at $29/month for one user (Core, billed annually), with Pipeline and lead management added on its Grow tier at $149/month for up to 5 users, per getjobber.com/pricing.
  • ServiceTitan and FieldEdge both require a sales call for pricing; ServiceTitan covers 15+ residential and commercial trades with a named CRM feature (pipeline management, deal tracking), per servicetitan.com/pricing and servicetitan.com/features.

How each one fits a home-services business

ServiceTitan

Covers 15+ residential and commercial trades, from HVAC and plumbing to roofing, pest control and locksmith work, with dispatch, a pricebook, payroll and a named CRM feature under one roof. Pricing is entirely quote-based across its Starter, Essentials and The Works tiers. Not for: a 1-2 truck shop that just wants to see a monthly price and get started.

Housecall Pro

Published pricing starting at $59/month for one user, trade-agnostic within home services, with online booking, scheduling, invoicing and a Pipeline Dashboard on every tier. The MAX tier at $299/month adds a sales proposal tool and API access. Not for: a company that needs a dedicated outbound engine to reach new prospects.

Jobber

The lowest published starting price of the group at $29/month, with a real Pipeline and lead management feature added at the Grow tier ($149/month, up to 5 users). Not for: a large multi-trade operation that needs payroll and deep pricebook customization, which pushes toward ServiceTitan instead.

FieldEdge

Combines dispatch with lead and prospect tracking, aimed at established HVAC, plumbing, electrical, locksmith and appliance-repair businesses, with prospect tracking called out on its Premier and Elite tiers. Not for: a shop that wants a published price before committing time to a sales call.

When none of these is the answer

A one-truck home-services operator doing their own scheduling from a phone doesn't need dispatch software yet. A shared calendar and a QuickBooks invoice covers that stage, and any of these tools add setup overhead that only pays off once there's a second technician on the road or a second trade in the business.

Disclosure: SalesCrew is our product. It has no dispatch, no route scheduling and no pricebook, so it isn't a fit for running home-services field operations day to day. Where it could fit is the sales side sitting beside a trade tool: tracking commercial accounts, running outbound to property managers or general contractors, and keeping a pipeline for maintenance-contract renewals. Voice and SMS features that a call-heavy home-services business would actually need are on the roadmap, not shipped, which is why it isn't ranked above.

Questions

What's the actual difference between these four tools?
ServiceTitan and FieldEdge are quote-only and built for operations with dispatch complexity across multiple trades; Housecall Pro and Jobber publish pricing and target smaller teams from a single truck upward. All four combine some level of job dispatch with a lighter CRM layer, rather than being pure pipeline tools.
Do I need a trade-specific tool, or does a general home-services platform work?
All four of these are trade-agnostic within the home-services category; none are HVAC-only or roofing-only. A genuinely trade-specific tool, like Roofr for roofing measurement or Aurora Solar for solar design, only becomes worth the extra software when your business needs that specific workflow the general tools don't have.
Which one has the strongest sales pipeline, not only dispatch?
Jobber's Grow and Plus tiers add a named Pipeline and lead-management feature. Housecall Pro has a Pipeline Dashboard on every tier plus an optional add-on. FieldEdge adds prospect tracking on its Premier and Elite tiers. ServiceTitan lists a CRM feature (pipeline management, deal tracking) across its tiers. None of the four are built for multi-step outbound to new prospects the way a dedicated CRM is.
Is it worth paying for ServiceTitan or FieldEdge over a cheaper published-price tool?
Usually only once a home-services business has enough trucks and complexity that dispatch, pricebook and payroll depth matter more than monthly cost. A 1-3 truck operation typically gets more value from Housecall Pro or Jobber's published pricing and faster setup.
