Where Apollo fits, and what to check first
Apollo.io
- A free plan with email campaigns, so you can test a list before you pay
- Search, enrichment and a sequencer in one account
- Credit use is spelled out in the pricing FAQ, including what counts as an export
- Every CSV export or CRM sync spends export credits, so moving data out has a running cost
- Free accounts can connect Gmail sending accounts only (checked September 2026)
Who Apollo suits
Apollo suits you if you need to find B2B contacts and send to them from one account. A small team can start on the free plan and test a list first. You'll pay per seat once the team grows, and each export spends credits.
Plan for where the data goes next. Most teams don't keep the pipeline in Apollo. They sync contacts to a CRM, and each of those exports uses credits. Count how many records you expect to move each month before you pick a plan.
Clean the list before the first send
How Apollo data works inside SalesCrew
SalesCrew uses Apollo as a data-source provider. You import and enrich contacts into the Data Bank, one pool of contacts for the whole team. You then build ICPs and segments from that bank.
When you freeze a segment for a cadence, SalesCrew removes every suppressed address. It checks suppression again at the moment of each send. A bounce or complaint adds the address to the suppression list, so it doesn't get mailed twice.
The records sit in your own Supabase database, with a full export whenever you want it. Core is $299 a month with unlimited seats, so the whole team works the same list without a per-seat charge.
Apollo.io questions buyers ask
- Is Apollo.io free to use?
- Yes. Apollo lists a free Starter plan on apollo.io/pricing (checked September 2026), and email campaigns are included on every account. On a free plan you can connect Gmail sending accounts only. Paid plans are priced per seat on the same page.
- How do Apollo credits work?
- Apollo spends credits when you reveal or export contact data. Its pricing page (checked September 2026) says export credits are used whenever a contact leaves Apollo, by CSV, CRM sync or Person API enrichment. Apollo prices credits at $0.025 each, and a trial comes with 50 credits and 5 mobile credits.
- Do unused Apollo add-on credits roll over?
- Add-on credits bought mid-cycle last until the end of the current billing period, per Apollo's pricing FAQ checked September 2026. Plan credits for a paying account are capped at the lower of the amount paid divided by $0.025, or 1 million credits a year.
- Why do Apollo lists bounce?
- Any B2B database ages as people change jobs, so a list pulled months ago holds more dead addresses than one pulled today. Verify addresses before the first send and suppress every hard bounce at once. In SalesCrew, a bounce or complaint adds the address to suppression, and suppression is checked again at send time.
- Can I use Apollo with SalesCrew?
- Yes. Apollo is a data-source provider in SalesCrew, used to import and enrich contacts into the Data Bank. From there you build ICPs and segments, and suppression is applied when an audience is frozen.
