Clay's server is a list-building assistant
Clay describes its MCP server in one line: find contacts, get emails and phone numbers, and push to sequences, all in natural language. You describe the people you want. The assistant runs the search, fills in the gaps and hands back a list you can act on.
You're still the one who decides what "good" looks like. Clay MCP can call the custom functions and scoring you already built in Clay, so your rules travel with the request. That keeps a chat prompt from quietly replacing the filters your team agreed on.

Where SalesCrew picks up the list
A list is only useful once someone works it. SalesCrew takes Clay rows into your data bank through an HTTP column or a CSV, and nothing reaches a cadence until you publish it. From there, data_bank_query and data_bank_publish let your assistant check and release the rows, and segment_create builds the audience.
SalesCrew enforces suppression when you freeze that audience, then checks it again at send. Your assistant can enroll the segment with cadence_enroll, but every external email waits in one approval queue for a person. The Clay integration page shows the HTTP column setup step by step.
