Upwex alternatives

Upwex is the cheapest Upwork tool on the market at $9.99 a month. Five alternatives compared on credits, integrations and the API that is still on its roadmap.

An admin approves every new account by hand. Nothing is created until then. We reply by email; no newsletter, no sequence.

Switch if you need an API or AI operation today, both of which Upwex lists as coming soon, or if won jobs must become tracked deals. Stay if one or two people bid and $9.99 is the whole budget.

The short answer

  • Upwex Lite is $9.99 a month with 100 AI credits per seat, Pro is $19.99 or $199 a year, and Max is $49. Its seven-day trial gives 20 credits and asks for no card.
  • API, webhooks and MCP are all listed as coming soon on its own pricing page. Not available today, so do not plan an integration around them.
  • Its Pipedrive sync on Pro and Max is the most useful thing it does after a proposal is answered, and it only helps if Pipedrive is already your CRM.

How we compared these

Prices, credit allowances and integration details come from each vendor's own pricing page, checked in September 2026. Nothing is taken from a review site, which in this niche are especially unreliable. Where a vendor lists a capability as forthcoming, this page records it as forthcoming rather than as available.

Evaluated from Upwex's own documentation and pricing, September 2026. We have not run it in production. Everything below is checkable against its site; there is no account here of using it to bid.

The table compares cost, what a plan actually includes, whether anything can be connected to it, and what happens once a proposal turns into a client. That final column is the one this whole category tends to leave empty.

The field, ranked for an agency leaving Upwex

1. GigRadar

The step up if bidding volume is the constraint: real automation across many searches, at $99 a month annually for 100 credits and one profile, with API access on its Agency and Unlimited tiers. Best for: agencies who need coverage a person cannot give. Not for: anyone on a $10 budget, and it carries whatever platform risk automated bidding carries.

2. Stay on Upwex

At $9.99 a month it is close to free, and for one or two bidders the analysis and assistance are usually worth more than that. Best for: small agencies who bid by hand and want help. Not for: anyone whose plan depends on the API, which is still listed as coming soon.

3. SalesCrew

Not a bidding tool. It is where the won job lands: an Upwork module covering the feed, the gate, proposals, outcomes and clients, with each job becoming a tracked deal beside your other channels, and Upwork tools in the MCP server behind an approval queue. Agency is $1,200 a month with unlimited seats. Best for: agencies whose bidding works and whose pipeline is a spreadsheet. Not for: anyone whose problem is proposal volume, or whose budget is $10 a month. New product, no third-party reviews, no mobile app. Disclosure: SalesCrew is our product.

4. A general CRM plus manual bidding

Bid by hand and track everything in Close at $9 a user annually or Attio at $35 a seat. Best for: agencies where Upwork is one channel among several. Not for: anyone who minds rekeying every won job from the marketplace into the CRM.

5. Upwork by itself

Free apart from connects. A person writing genuinely tailored proposals often converts better than any assistant, and there is no automation risk to your account. Best for: agencies whose proposals are the differentiator. Not for: anyone who needs to cover many searches at once.

When to stay on Upwex

Stay because the price is close to irrelevant. Ten dollars a month is less than an hour of anyone's time, so the tool only has to save one hour a month to pay for itself several times over. Every alternative here is at least ten times the price, and for a small agency that difference funds a lot of other things.

Stay if you already run Pipedrive. The sync on Pro and Max closes the gap this whole category usually leaves open, connecting the proposal to a CRM record without anybody rekeying it. That is a real integration doing real work, and it is the strongest argument for Upwex over the cheaper option of doing nothing.

Stay if bidding by hand is working. Upwex assists a person rather than replacing them, which suits agencies whose win rate comes from writing genuinely tailored proposals. Automation tools optimise for volume, and volume is not always the constraint. If your proposals convert and you simply want them written faster, this is the cheapest help available and switching would mean paying for a different problem.

Questions

What does Upwex cost?
Lite is listed at $9.99 a month, monthly billing only, with 100 AI credits per seat per month, as of September 2026. Pro is $19.99 a month or $199 a year and Max is $49 a month. It also offers a seven-day free trial with 20 starter credits and no card required, which is a genuinely low-friction way to test it.
Does Upwex have an API or an MCP server?
Not today. Its own pricing page lists API, webhooks and MCP together as coming soon. If your plan depends on connecting Upwex to your own systems or letting an AI client operate it, that capability does not exist yet, and a roadmap should not be weighed against a shipped feature.
What does Upwex sync to?
Pipedrive, on its Pro and Max tiers. That is more than most tools in this niche do after a proposal is answered, and it is worth knowing that the integration is specific: if your CRM is not Pipedrive, the sync does not help you.
Is $9.99 enough tooling for an Upwork agency?
For one or two people bidding, quite possibly. The credit allowance is 100 AI credits per seat per month on Lite, and the Check Fit analyser sits on the Pro and Max tiers. The limits are honest for the price; what you are not buying at that number is bidding automation at volume.
