Salesforce Einstein vs Agentforce: what changed

Einstein's product pages now redirect to a hub that leads with Agentforce, and the billing unit moved from the seat to the action.

The short answer

  • Salesforce sells its AI under the Agentforce name as of September 2026; the Einstein product URLs on salesforce.com redirect to salesforce.com/artificial-intelligence, which leads with Agentforce.
  • Salesforce builds Agentforce around agents that take actions, such as updating a record or answering a customer, and it meters each action.
  • Agentforce Flex Credits cost $500 per 100,000 credits, and a standard Agentforce action uses 20 of them, per salesforce.com/agentforce/pricing checked September 2026.
  • For an Einstein buyer, the practical change is the bill: AI spend now grows with how much the agents do, on top of seat licenses.

From a feature brand to an agent platform

Einstein was the name on Salesforce's older AI product pages. Try those URLs today and you land on Salesforce's AI hub, checked 24 September 2026. That hub's menu is all Agentforce: Agentforce Builder, Agentforce Voice, Agentforce Dev Tools and Agentforce Pricing.

The shift is bigger than a rename. An assistant suggests; an agent does. Salesforce defines an Agentforce action as a specific function an AI agent executes. Updating a record is one, and so is summarizing a case. You pay for each one.

What it means for a Sales Cloud team

If you're on Sales Cloud, you're paying for seats already. Agentforce adds a second meter. Take Salesforce's own worked example, as of September 2026. An agent using 40 Flex Credits per request, 20 times a day for 30 days, costs $120 a month. More requests or more agents move that number.

The sales-specific agents are listed under Agentforce for Sales: Lead Nurture, Pipeline Management, Prospecting, Sales Emails and Account Research, among others. Before you switch one on, estimate how many actions it takes per lead. That's your real price.

How SalesCrew bills AI instead

SalesCrew includes AI assist in Core at $299 a month with unlimited seats. That covers drafts, summaries, lead scores and AI fields, with a fair-use allowance of about 5,000 model calls a month. The Agents pack for Core adds in-product agents for $199 a month. Bring your own Anthropic key for $99 and your usage doesn't touch the allowance at all.

Every SalesCrew agent runs in one of four modes: off, draft, review or auto. Any external send an agent writes defaults to review, so it waits in one approval queue for a person. See SalesCrew pricing and SalesCrew vs Salesforce.

Price the agent by actions, not by the demo

A demo runs one conversation. Production runs thousands. Count the actions an agent takes per record and multiply by your monthly volume. Then ask Salesforce for the credit burn before you commit to a pre-purchase.

Questions

Is Salesforce Einstein the same as Agentforce?
Salesforce now sells its AI under the Agentforce name. As of September 2026, the old Einstein product URLs on salesforce.com redirect to salesforce.com/artificial-intelligence, a page built around Agentforce. Agentforce adds agents that take actions, such as updating a record, and bills those actions separately.
How is Agentforce priced?
Agentforce has three buying routes, checked on salesforce.com/agentforce/pricing in September 2026. You can buy Flex Credits at $500 per 100,000, pay $2 per conversation, or buy per-user add-ons. A standard Agentforce action uses 20 Flex Credits and a voice action uses 30.
Is Agentforce included in Sales Cloud?
Partly. Salesforce's Sales Cloud pricing page, checked September 2026, says Core includes Agentforce with the free Salesforce Foundations add-on. It also says AI can be added to Core and above. Its top edition lists Agentforce for Sales and Agentforce Coworker as included.
